Usually, on outings, I have to base the day around my child with special needs.
The OC Fair is a great experience but can be overwhelming to some children with autism. Because the crowds, food and carnival rides can be overwhelming for my child, I usually buy a pass so we won’t feel it’s necessary to cram all the fair attractions into one day. I’m flexible and prepared to leave whenever my son indicates he wants to go, so I lessen the chance of a meltdown or non-compliance.
He especially loved the foot massage and cool down misting machines, which are great for sensory stimulation.
